Lukas Yla, a marketer searching for work in San Francisco, has devised a tasty way to get the attention of prospective employers. He poses as a Postmates delivery person, then drops off a box of free donuts at the agency he’s interested in. When they open the box, whoa! They find a resume.
Guess whose résumé it is. Go on, guess.
Despite how deeply hokey this approach might sound, it actually seems to be working. According to Adweek, he scored 10 interviews after dropping off donuts at around 40 agencies. Hmm.
Such is the power of donuts. Imagine what a cupcake could land you.
